Things like this happen all the time in Austin. It's one humming little city - just the other night I went to a comedy and waffle-eating festival; and saw posters advertising a "beard prom" where you are denied entry unless you've got a real or fake beard. Weird? Yep. And that's what Austin is all about, as evidenced by the "Keep Austin Weird" souvenirs. For this event, 12 hand-picked grafitti artists had 4 hours to work on creating a unique piece of artwork, sprayed onto the side of a railcar. Judges picked the winner, and then the party happened Austin-style: a warehouse shindig with break dancing, djs, kids on roller skates. Love. This. City.
